Miami (AFP) - Shelby Miller's bid to become the first Atlanta Braves pitcher in 21 years to throw a no-hitter ended Sunday at the final out.

Miller had retired 26 Miami Marlins batters without giving up a hit before surrendering a first-pitch single up the middle to Justin Bour with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Miller, a righty, then gave up another single to Dee Gordon on a ground ball behind second base before inducing Martin Prado to pop up for the final out in the 6-0, two-hit victory.
