VANCOUVER – It’s been a year of mixed fortunes for veteran Costa Rican midfielder Christian Bolaños.
On a personal level, the 32-year-old has settled in well to his new surroundings in Vancouver and Major League Soccer, leading the team with eight assists and sitting second on five goals, but the Whitecaps had a season of struggle, failing to make the playoffs for the first time since 2013 and struggling to get things going both offensively and defensively.
"For me as an individual, this season went well," Bolaños told Goal. "I had some goals, I [had] assists, I play[ed] many games, but I am part of this team.
