TORONTO — Late Saturday afternoon, Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman walked out on a ledge near the top of CN Tower, tethered only by a harness, which was stronger than his nerves.
If the 30 minutes Cashman spent dangling over Toronto, inching his way around the edge of the platform 1,168 feet above ground, was harrowing, as he freely admitted, it was also invigorating.
It was not unlike the Yankees’ series here this weekend, in which the top two teams in the American League East played exhilarating baseball that seemed to determine little except that they were primed for a heated race through September.
