Blue Jays 2, Yankees 0: Yankees Shut Out by Blue Jays for Second Day in Row

Of the three hits that Masahiro Tanaka allowed in six innings Sunday, two left the ballpark. The damage was minimal, but it supplied the Toronto Blue Jays with just enough offense to send the Yankees off winless in this important three-game series between two teams battling at the top of the American League East.

Tanaka was nearly flawless, walking none and striking out five on an idyllic afternoon. But home runs by Josh Donaldson in the first and Jose Bautista in the fourth put the Blue Jays ahead and the Yankees did not answer, falling by 2-0 as surging Toronto completed a weekend sweep.
