The gap between the Huskies and the rest of the Big East has slowly closed since they rejoined the conference for the 2020-21 season. Their title streak started with seven American Athletic Conference titles in seven years.
In their first season back in the Big East in 2021, the Huskies (8-3, 1-0) didn’t lose a conference game and defeated Marquette by 34 points in the tournament title game. In Year 2, it was one loss in the regular season and a 30-point margin over Villanova in the championship game.
