FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Someone threw a floating lob at Tom Brady on Thursday night that was nearly as soft as his second touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski.
Brady had an almost perfect night — four TDs, zero picks, 143.8 passer rating — to spark a 28-21 victory that christened the New England Patriots’ defense of their Super Bowl title.
Relieved?
Shoot, for all of the drama, innuendo and clarifications of the past few months, Brady was probably relieved, too, that the question was one that he would gladly answer under oath.
“Yes, I think it was something I really looked forward to,” Brady said, looking, well, relieved.
