The Chicago Bears are making sure they don't lose their recently acquired All-Pro guard to free agency next offseason. The Bears and guard Joe Thuney have agreed to a two-year contract extension, according to his agent Mike McCartney
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the deal is worth $17.5 million per year, and Thuney will make $51 million for the next three years with $33.5 million full guaranteed at signing.
The move effectively keeps the Bears' new interior trio of Thuney, center Drew Dalman, and guard Jonah Jackson together for the next couple of seasons.
