Baylor Outlasts TCU in Triple Overtime to Remain Unbeaten

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

No. 12 Baylor remains unbeaten after outlasting TCU 29–23 in triple overtime in Fort Worth on Saturday.

The Bears were trailing by three in the waning minutes of regulation before kicker John Mayers sent the game to OT with a 51-yard field goal with 36 seconds left on the clock.

Down 16–9 on fourth-and-9 in overtime, TCU quarterback Max Duggan threw a 20-yard pass to wide receiver Te'Vailance Hunt, who made a nearly impossible game-tying catch in the end zone with a Baylor defender on his back. The catch was initially ruled incomplete before a review found that Hunt, while falling to the ground, got his elbow down before his knee.
