Sean Combs, the rapper and hip-hop mogul who currently uses the name Diddy, was arrested Monday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon — a kettlebell — at U.C.L.A., where his son is a member of the football team, the police said.

The campus authorities said that no one was “seriously injured” in the incident, which occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the Acosta Athletic Training Complex of the University of California, Los Angeles.

Mr. Combs, 45, was released later on Monday, after posting $50,000 bail, according to the Associated Press. In addition to three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, he was charged with battery and making terrorist threats, ESPN reported.
