Arrested Notre Dame players appear in court, plead not guilty

According to court documents, police found a "significant" amount of marijuana in the traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of Notre Dame football players Ashton White, Dexter Williams, Kevin Stepherson, Te'Von Coney and Max Redfield, the South Bend Tribune reports.

The players were stopped on the night of Aug. 19 and the police found loaded handgun and two bags of marijuana on a rear floorboard of the car.

Three of the players appeared in court on Tuesday. Coney, Redfield and Stepherson pleaded not guilty.

All players said they knew about the marijuanna in the car.
