Are Redskins truly better off with RG3 on bench?

Jay Gruden didn't have to say the Washington Redskins are Kirk Cousins' team.

Robert Griffin III's ongoing recovery from a concussion gave Gruden cover for at least a game or two. The choice in the short term wasn't Cousins or RG3 — it was Cousins or Colt McCoy. Gruden went all in on Cousins anyway, proclaiming Monday the fourth-year pro has earned the right to be the starter this season and gives the Redskins the best chance to win.

The Redskins will probably struggle no matter who's under center. With Cousins, they look like a six-win team at best in a year of transition under new general manager Scot McCloughan, who's more likely than ever to be looking for his own QB after the season.
