ANAHEIM, Calif. — Coming from Japan, Shohei Ohtani did not know how long it would take to choose his new team, or whether that team would be in the American or National League, or where that team played, but he wanted to prepare himself for every possibility.
So Ohtani packed to make a stylish entrance at his introductory news conference, whenever and wherever that would be.
Ohtani ascended a dais on Saturday outside Angel Stadium, where he will throw his 100-mile-an-hour fastball and unleash his sweet left-handed swing next season for the Los Angeles Angels, wearing a dark velvet suit.
