Angels starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker was hit in the head by a vicious comebacker off the bat of Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager on Sunday during the second inning.

With the ball traveling 105 mph when it left Seager's bat, Shoemaker was given every precaution as he was helped to a local hospital to undergo a CT scan.
According to the Orange County Register, Shoemaker suffered a laceration on the side of his head, but he was alert while traveling to the hospital.
