Andrea Bargnani Agrees to a Two-Year Deal With the Nets

LAS VEGAS — After two unproductive, injury-marred seasons with the Knicks, Andrea Bargnani has found a new home in New York. On Sunday, Bargnani agreed to sign with the Nets, who are hoping that Bargnani, a former No. 1 overall draft pick, can somehow resuscitate his N.B.A. career in Brooklyn.

It is an inexpensive move by the Nets, who will bring Bargnani aboard on a two-year deal for the veteran’s minimum, with a player option for the second year, according to a league official.

Bargnani, a 7-footer who is much more comfortable roaming the perimeter than he is jostling for position in the post, missed 93 games over the last two seasons with the Knicks because of a long list of injuries.
