Alex Bregman’s Homer Caps an All-Star Slugfest

WASHINGTON — Major leaguers set a record last year for regular-season home runs, then followed that up with a record for homers in the World Series. So what do you think happened at Tuesday’s All-Star Game at Nationals Park?

The American League outslugged the National League, 8-6 in 10 innings, with 10 home runs to smash the previous All-Star record of six. The blasts came from Aaron Judge, Mike Trout, Willson Contreras, Trevor Story, Jean Segura, Christian Yelich, Scooter Gennett, Alex Bregman, George Springer and Joey Votto.

“A lot of good swings,” said Judge, the Yankees star who connected in the second inning off the Nationals’ Max Scherzer.
