Alabama's Bo Scarbrough suffered broken leg in title game, report says

Bo Scarbrough missed the end of Monday night's national championship game because of a broken bone in his lower right leg, ESPN reported Tuesday.

Alabama's star running back was forced out late in the third quarter and didn't return. As the Tide's offense sputtered most of the rest of the way, Clemson rallied with three touchdowns in the fourth quarter for a 35-31 win.

Alabama ran for 57 yards after Scarbrough left, but 30 of them came on quarterback Jalen Hurts' touchdown burst to briefly retake the lead with 2:31 remaining.

Scarbrough had 16 carries for 93 yards and two touchdowns before he got hurt Monday, building on an impressive postseason run.
