The San Francisco 49ers' offseason roster tweaking continued Tuesday when the club announced the addition of a new undrafted rookie cornerback.
CB Derrick Canteen signed a three-year deal with San Francisco as their seventh UDFA addition after impressing in a tryout at rookie minicamp. To make room on their 90-man roster the 49ers waived safety Quindell Johnson.
Canteen, 24, spent his six college seasons at three schools including four years with Georgia Southern, one at Virginia Tech and his final one at Cincinnati. In 2024 with the Bearcats he started 12 games and posted 44 taackles, three tackles for loss, five pass breakups and an interception.
