41 cars lined up for Richmond qualifying; rain threatens Tony Stewart's return

For the first time since the Daytona 500, NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series has more cars entered that the field allows. There are 41 teams preparing for this weekend's race at Richmond.

This season has seen instances of fewer cars entered than the rules allow. Considering this year's field was reduced by three to 40 cars, having a surprise was rare.
