It feels like Auburn is treading water as a program.
The Tigers, ranked No. 15 in the country entering Week 7, lost on the road to South Carolina 30-22 on Saturday to drop to 2-2 on the year.
Bo Nix, Gus Malzahn’s heralded five-star quarterback recruit, threw three interceptions in the loss. All three of Nix’s turnovers provided short fields for the South Carolina offense, resulting in touchdown drives of 29, 49 and eight yards for the Gamecocks.
Even after all of those mistakes, Nix would have a chance to redeem himself. Trailing 30-22, the Auburn offense regained possession at its own 20-yard line with 2:15 to play.
