TOLEDO, Ohio – Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Andrea Grove-McDonough announced the addition of Zak Kirk as the assistant cross country coach. Kirk is a two-time NCAA Cross Country Championship participant and earned all-conference honors at Eastern Kentucky and Portland.
A Maumee native, Kirk comes to Toledo after competing at the University of Portland from 2020-23. There, Kirk earned second-team All-WCC honors and helped the Pilots to the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships, where he finished 52nd. He earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and a Master of Arts degree in High Education and Student Affairs from Portland.
