Ann Arbor, Mich. - The University of Toledo women's tennis team finished their first day of the ITA Midwest Regional tournament on Thursday.
Junior Dee Dee Leenabanchong traveled down the bracket, notching wins against DePaul's Marija Jovicic (6-3, 6-3) and No. 1 seeded Michigan's Lera Patiuk (2-6, 6-4, 6-4). Senior Kokoro Chishaki knocked Bowling Green's Vanesa Pardo from the bracket (4-6, 6-3, 6-2) before falling to Michigan State's Emily Metcalf (7-6, 6-4). Freshman Christina Fuller defeated Bowling Green's Ayumi Sasski in three sets (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) before Illinois' Shivani Ingle broke Fuller's singles winning streak in two sets (6-3, 6-1).
