Youngstown, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's tennis team defeated Youngstown State in a tight 4-3 victory on Friday in Youngstown, Ohio.
The Rockets dropped the doubles point early, despite junior/freshman duo Dee Dee Leenabanchong/KierstenCarlson's 6-4 win on the No. 1 doubles court.
The Rockets bounced back in singles play, where Christina Fuller was up 6-4, 3-1 in her match at the No. 4 spot before her opponent defaulted. Carlson bagged a win at the No. 5 spot over Elvira Esteo (6-4, 6-2). Leenabanchong and seniors Kokoro Chishaki and Claire Aleck finished their matches in three sets.
