Every college football offseason presents a different vibe.
Last year, Toledo entered winter workouts with determination. The Rockets had unfinished business and were out to correct what ailed them in 2021.
The record stayed the same in 2022, but the objectives were accomplished: a Mid-American Conference championship and a bowl victory.
With trophies in hand and 15 returning starters, the mood inside the Larimer Athletic Complex weight room was noticeably cheerful when UT reconvened in January under the watchful eye of strength coach Brad Bichey.
“There was definitely confidence coming into the offseason, winning the MAC championship and the Boca Bowl,” he said.
