During the first week of OTAs, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger worked with JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Washington, Donte Moncrief, Eli Rogers and Ryan Switzer. Rookie receiver Diontae Johnson worked with reserve quarterbacks Mason Rudolph and Josh Dobbs and other receiver prospects who are long shots to make the team.
This week, the final week of OTAs before next week’s mandatory minicamp, Johnson received a promotion of sorts when he was brought up to work with Roethlisberger and the other veteran receivers.
And he did not disappoint.
Johnson’s talents are easy to spot. He’s quick, smooth and has a natural feel for catching footballs.
