Nearly one year has passed since the announcement of Toledo athletic director Mike O’Brien’s departure.
Only four months remain until the last day in his Savage Arena office.
In October, the University of Toledo formed a 10-person search committee of university employees, local business leaders, and alumni. Douglas Huffner, UT’s associate vice president for risk management and chief risk officer, is chairing the committee.
An official opening with a job description hasn’t been posted, but the person selected will need to be a prolific fundraiser, provide visionary leadership, and navigate the crucible of college athletics while positioning Toledo to prosper.
