When T.J. Buchholz took over as head coach of the University of Toledo women’s soccer team three seasons ago, he imagined moments like these.
As he and his team gathered with their closest supporters to watch the NCAA tournament selection show at the Grogan Room in Savage Arena on Monday, a burst of enthusiasm let out as Toledo saw its name come across the big screen.
The Rockets, winners of the Mid-American Conference tournament, knew they were in the NCAA tournament, but that didn’t dampen the mood when Toledo saw its name paired with Wisconsin.
“It’s pretty cool,” Buchholz said.
