Riding a dominant starting pitching tandem and an influx of freshmen talent, the University of Toledo softball team is in the midst of one of its best seasons in recent memory.
After narrowly missing the Mid-American Conference tournament last season, the goals outlined by the team prior to this season were 30 overall wins, with 15 MAC wins – a mark that would likely qualify the Rockets for the conference tournament.
Toledo hasn’t had a 30-win season since the 1995 team finished 37-30 overall.
So far so good as the Rockets sit at 28-14 overall and 12-2 in the MAC with three games each against Western Michigan, Central Michigan, and Ball State to close out the season.
