When University of Toledo senior wide receiver Cody Thompson took a hit during the spring football game this season, Rockets coach Jason Candle couldn’t help but cringe.
Coming off a broken leg that forced him to miss most of the 2017 season, Thompson wanted to be back in on the field and clear the last hurdle in his rehabilitation, which was absorbing a tackle in game action.
No worse for wear after that hit, Thompson expects to be back to the form that made him one of the top receivers in the Mid-American Conference before the injury.
