SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Three games, three victories for Toledo.
But more importantly for the Rockets, their jaunt to Puerto Rico afforded them 10 extra practices, bonding time on the island, and a brief respite before regular-season practices begin in September.
“The competition we faced here was probably better than we’ve had during our previous trips to Greece and Italy,” UT coach Tod Kowalczyk said. “We played well and were able to get a lot of guys in there for good minutes. There’s no question we got a lot done this summer.”
The Rockets have won Mid-American Conference championships in each of the past two seasons and should be favored to win their third consecutive title in 2022-23.
