FINDLAY — The University of Toledo men’s basketball team got a bit more than it bargained for in a charity exhibition game against Findlay at Croy Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
It’s not every day that a Division I team goes on the road to play a Division II team. But that was by design as Toledo coach Tod Kowalczyk wanted his young team to get tested before playing at Syracuse in its first regular season road game.
Toledo got everything it asked for and more in an 89-86 loss that Findlay controlled most of the way.
“I have an unbelievable amount of respect for the Findlay program,” Kowalczyk said.
