Following a Mid-American Conference championship in 2017, the University of Toledo football team entered the 2018 season with high expectations.
Despite having to replace key players from last year’s roster, including record-setting quarterback Logan Woodside, the Rockets were again expected to challenge for a MAC title after being tabbed to finish second in the MAC West behind Northern Illinois in the conference’s preseason poll.
In many ways, 2018 was a rocky season for Toledo and one that ultimately felt like a step back after breaking a long MAC title drought in 2017.
In coach Jason Candle’s third full season, Toledo had its highs, including beating rival Bowling Green for the ninth straight time.
