Tucker Gleason will start at quarterback for Toledo in the Battle of I-75, UT coach Jason Candle told The Blade.
First-string QB Dequan Finn is being held out because of a lower leg injury suffered in last week’s win against Ball State.
This will be Gleason’s second career start after he filled in at Eastern Michigan, completing 15 of 27 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns. The redshirt freshman led a game-winning fourth-quarter drive, including delivering a 36-yard pass to Devin Maddox on fourth down.
Finn missed the Eastern game with an upper-body injury sustained on the final play at Buffalo.
