The versatility of a lead blocker who can pave the way for a running back and is skilled enough to catch passes out of the backfield still has value (San Francisco's Kyle Juszczyk is the best example).
Former University of Toledo tight end and H-back Reggie Gilliam is hoping the need for a dynamic fullback will lead to him being selected with a late pick in the 2020 NFL draft.
“The fullback is a dying position in the NFL, but teams with good fullbacks tend to go pretty far in the playoffs,” Gilliam said.
