DAYTON — A slow first quarter led to the first loss of the season for the University of Toledo women’s basketball team on Wednesday with Dayton defeating the Rockets 69-60 at UD Arena.
In a contest with an 11 a.m. tip time, Toledo (2-1) fell behind early. Dayton scored the game’s first 10 points, opening up a 20-8 lead after 10 minutes.
The Flyers, also now 2-1, led the entire contest. They were up 37-24 at halftime and 49-35 after three quarters.
"If you take away the first quarter, we win the game," Toledo coach Tricia Cullop said.
