Toledo women's basketball comes up short at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. — The University of Toledo women’s basketball team made a late charge but ultimately fell short 72-68 against Ball State in a Mid-American Conference contest Wednesday at Worthen Arena.

Toledo actually outscored Ball State in every quarter outside of a 21-11 Cardinals’ advantage in the second, which proved to be the deciding factor.

Toledo dropped to 6-7 overall and 1-2 in the MAC, while Ball State improved to 12-4 and remain unblemished in the conference at 4-0.

The Cardinals maintained a 71-62 lead with 1:36 remaining after 1 of 2 free throws from Tessa Towers.
