Toledo women’s basketball coach Tricia Cullop said on Sunday that it felt like an “eternity” waiting for the start of the 2020-21 season to arrive.
The Rockets were still in the MAC Tournament in March when it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. To open this season, they were supposed to play Wright State this past Wednesday, but that contest was canceled after Wright State cited a lack of available players as a result of quarantining individuals with positive coronavirus tests, those designated as close contacts, and injuries.
“It's kind of like, you just kept praying that everything was going to come together so we could finally have that first game,” Cullop said.
