AKRON — Toledo scored four runs in the second inning to help the Rockets defeat Central Michigan in the opening round of the Mid-American Conference softball tournament on Wednesday.
Jenna Kroll began the inning with a home run on the first pitch of the inning, her 26th career homer. Singles from Maris Barbato and Madison Mikulski knocked in runs, and a sacrifice fly by Emily Bracamonte gave Toledo a 4-0 lead.
Eli Enriquez had an RBI double in the fourth inning, and she followed that up with an RBI triple in the sixth to give Toledo a 6-3 lead.
