Toledo coach Jason Candle didn’t need to fully digest the film from Wednesday’s 41-38 loss to Western Michigan to know that his team played hard.
In fact, his message on Sunday at his weekly press conference was similar to the one he had on Wednesday night following the loss.
“I thought our kids played well enough to go win the football game,” Candle said. “But like I said after the game, this is a 60-minute deal, not a 58-minute deal. And we live with the results of where we're at right now.
“The goal is always to prepare really, really hard so you can go play well enough to win the game.
