The University of Toledo football program has had more change than a wallet.
Former head coach Jason Candle took the same job at the University of Connecticut a day before the bowl announcement, the transfer portal looms ahead starting Jan. 2, and new head coach Mike Jacobs was hired.
Despite the situation, Toledo (8-4, 6-2 Mid-American Conference) says it will play with pride this postseason, facing Louisville (8-4, 4-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) in the Bush’s Boca Raton Bowl of Beans on Dec. 23.
The Cardinals are a 6.5-point favorite and are motivated to get a third consecutive nine-win season, but anything can happen in bowl games.
