MUNCIE, Ind. — The Toledo volleyball team saw its eight-match winning streak come to an end on Friday with a five-set loss to Mid-American Conference rival Ball State.
The Cardinals won by set scores of 25-21, 21-25, 20-25, 25-17, 15-12.
It’s the first loss in conference play this season for the Rockets, dropping them to 5-1 in the MAC and 14-4 overall. The defeat is the team’s first since dropping another five-set decision against Arkansas on Sept. 14.
Olivia Heitkamp led Toledo with 20 kills and added four digs. Elsewhere, Jessica Costlow had 13 kills and seven digs, Sophie Catalano had 12 kills and two digs, Sierra Pertzborn notched 11 kills and four block assists, Kelsey Smith had 48 assists and nine digs, and Grace Freiberger finished with 25 digs and four assists.
