TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo and Life Connection of Ohio are holding their fifth-annual "Rockets for Life" game this week to promote awareness for organ donation in Northwest Ohio. The Rockets host Central Michigan in Savage Arena on Saturday, Feb. 19 in a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
Former Toledo Blade sportswriter and columnist Dave Hackenberg will be recognized at halftime on Saturday. Dave received a kidney transplant from his daughter Amy in 2017 at UTMC and immediately started feeling betting with 98 percent kidney function. Amy is now an ambassador for living donors/donations and the American Kidney Fund.
