SOUTH BEND, Ind.— The Toledo baseball team hit the diamond for its first exhibition games of the fall on Friday, splitting a doubleheader at Notre Dame.
The Rockets and Fighting Irish played two six-inning games in South Bend. Toledo won game one, 2-1, before falling in game two, 3-1.
"I'm really proud of the way we came out and played tonight," head coach Rob Reinstetle said. "The energy was great and we did some really good things on the field. The pitchers did a good job competing and throwing strikes and the offense had some nice moments too.
