TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo softball team will be participating in a charity game on Saturday, Aug. 28 against the USA Patriots, America's amputee softball team. The game is set for a 5 p.m. first pitch at Mercy Field and will be a slow pitch game. Admission will be $5 with proceeds benefiting the USA Patriots, a charity for wounded veterans.
"We are honored to be included by the USA Patriots for this fantastic cause," said Head Coach Joe Abraham. "I can't think of a more worthy cause than giving back to wounded veterans. We hope there will be a good crowd there on Saturday as our team sees whether their fast pitch game can translate to slow pitch.
