BOWLING GREEN — The University of Toledo’s Sophia Knight and Mady Yackee combined to pitch a five-inning perfect game to defeat Bowling Green 5-0 in the second game of a softball doubleheader on Saturday at Meserve Field.
The feat was the first perfect game in UT history.
Knight (9-4), the winning pitcher, went the first three innings and struck out five of the nine batters she faced. She got three more to fly out and another to ground out.
Yackee, a Springfield graduate, struck out three batters in the final two innings, with two flyouts to one groundout.
