Joe Abraham, the softball coach at the University of Toledo since 2019, will resign effective June 1, the university announced Monday.
Abraham, who went 83-99 with the Rockets after serving as the head coach at Hillsdale College from 2012-18, is pursuing other opportunities, according to a university press release.
“We appreciate Joe's service at the University of Toledo,” UT director of athletics Bryan Blair said in the press release. “We will work diligently to find the next head coach for Toledo softball.”
Toledo went 12-37 in 2022, 5-21 in Mid-American Conference play. The downturn followed a 31-22 (21-16 MAC) mark in 2021, an 11-12 record at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, and a 29-28 (10-9 MAC) season in 2019 that included winning the MAC tournament championship and an appearance in the NCAA Lexington Regional.
