If a simple gesture or contagious smile can leave a lasting impact, former Toledo football player Jahneil Douglas left behind quite the legacy.
Douglas led a life filled with those gestures — big and small — doing everything he could to brighten the day of those who crossed paths with him in the classroom, on the football field, or otherwise with a bright smile and a positive attitude.
Douglas was shot and killed in Toledo on July 7 and left the Toledo football program and the community reeling in seeing someone so proud of the city and its football program taken at the age of 22.
