University of Toledo sophomore offensive tackle Lavel Dumont is not expected back this season after suffering an apparent leg injury against Bowling Green on Wednesday.
Dumont’s status was updated in Toledo’s game notes ahead of this week’s upcoming game against Western Michigan. Dumont, who won the starting right tackle job, went down in the first half and was carted off the field.
“I give our kids a lot of credit tonight,” head coach Jason Candle said on Wednesday. “That was a big loss. Everybody knows how hard Lavel's worked to get into that starting rotation. ... He kind of gave them a little bit of a smile and then told them like, ‘this is this is not about me, you got to go out and win the football game’ as he was getting carted off.
