TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo opens a rare four-game run of home games in the month of September by hosting Texas Southern on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Glass Bowl (3:30 p.m./ESPN+).
The Rockets are coming off a 30-28 defeat at Illinois on Sept. 2. Toledo (0-1) led 19-7 at one point in the third quarter before Illinois reeled off 20 straight points. The Rockets rallied to take a 28-27 lead with 2:59 left when junior quarterback Dequan Finn scored from one yard out. Illinois then drove to the UT 12-yard line and kicked a game-winning 29-yard field goal with five seconds left.
