BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Toledo softball team opened the Battle of I-75 with an 8-3 victory over Bowling Green at Meserve Field on Friday afternoon. The Rockets stole seven bases against the Falcons to tie the single-game record set vs. Cal. State Northridge on Feb. 15, 2014.
Toledo seized control of the game by erupting for four runs on four hits in the second to take a 5-1 lead. Senior then cracked a two-run homer in the fourth to give UT an 8-1 cushion.
BGSU rallied for two runs in the fifth, but junior (7-4) kept the Falcons from scoring any more in the final two frames in her complete-game victory.
