YPSILANTI, Mich. — A 16-point halftime lead nearly disappeared for the University of Toledo men’s basketball team Friday at Eastern Michigan, but the Rockets regrouped late to post a 91-74 victory in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams.
Helping Toledo (3-2, 1-0 MAC) secure the road victory was ball control. The Rockets had 19 assists to 10 turnovers, compared to 13 assists and 14 turnovers for Eastern Michigan (0-2, 0-1).
“When you have 19 assists and 10 turnovers, that’s a really efficient night against a great defense,” Toledo coach Tod Kowalczyk said. “We got the ball to the high post and [Setric Millner, Jr.
